I will stamp all over 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants met personally to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Former twice world title holder Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

In spite of such comments, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually famous for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's largest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually happening.
